Often new
hospitals and new departments focus on the physical layout and capital
purchases needed for the start up of programs without establishing
a solid recruitment strategy to staff those areas. Because some architectural
designs can actually inhibit staffing patterns, developing a plan
for staffing future areas should begin as early as possible-even
prior to the to the initial design process. Regardless of where you
are in the construction phase, it is never too late to begin formulating
a plan to recruit and retain great nurses.
